Public art and economic good, Glenrothes and Milton Keynes; ACGB increase in funds to p.and community art; increase in the appointment of Town Artists eg Portsmouth and Swansea; identifies differing roles for artists but need for research into public response, old and new areas of towns; studies in the USA in Î73 revealed that 89% felt that the arts were essential and most people reacted favourably to contây p. sculpture.
